Major national and international funds will be looking for video game and animation companies to invest in Spain

International funds Bitkfraft, Triple Dragon and Joystick Ventures along with DeAPlaneta Entertainment and Elipsis Capital, among others, will attend this new edition.

Next Lab Finance & Tech will bring together, on June 28th and 29th in Pamplona, some of the most important national and international investors in the animation and video games sector with the aim of facilitating the financing of productions within the sector and boosting their growth. As in its previous edition, the event has the main support of the Government of Navarra through the public company NICDO.

Thanks to the joint work of ICEX and Invest in Spain together with the organisation itself, it has been possible to attract leading international funds to this second edition. Among the investors who have already confirmed their presence is Bitkraft, a global investment platform for games, Web3 and immersive technology that invests in seed, series A and series B, and currently has investments in AMGI studios, Trioscope Studios, Discord and Epic Games.

Triple Dragon, a company with extensive experience in financing app and video game productions, will also be in attendance. Thanks to its knowledge of the sector, it offers everything from user or project acquisition financing to bridge funding, venture capital debt and even, in certain situations, equity financing.

Joystick Ventures will be another of the investment companies attending the Pamplona event. There, this company, an expert in finding developers of innovative products, will be looking for the proposals that best fit with their business, to offer them financial investments that will help them to achieve success.

Also present will be DeAPlaneta, a leading international entertainment company that produces and distributes animated series and their derived rights; and Elipsis Capital, a company specialising in the financing of film, television series, music and performing arts productions, which works with private and institutional investors, brands, governments and national and international producers, providing financial perspective and the necessary resources to maximise the profitability of investments.

In this way, "Next Lab Finance & Tech is a unique event for animation and video game professionals in Spain, as there is no other similar meeting in our country that is so strongly committed to the growth of the sector through financing, innovation and the incorporation of new technological tools", says José Luis Farias, director of the event.

In last year's edition, more than 150 meetings and encounters between industry professionals and investors were held during the event. This year, 2023, expectations are to exceed the number of meetings and B2B sessions, with the aim of further enhancing collaborations between participants.

To this end, during the two days of Next Lab Finance & Tech Navarra the focus will be on facilitating networking spaces and workshops, round tables and conferences will be held, as well as the presentation of success stories showing the situation of the sector, the challenges it faces when it comes to finding financing and new business models.

Next Lab Finance & Tech Navarra will once again bring together the animation and video game sector with investment and innovation agents. The aim is to facilitate collaboration between the two and resolve the difficulties many projects incorporating disruptive technologies and R&D&I processes face when it comes to finding funding.

Next Lab Finance & Tech has the main support of the Government of Navarra through the public company NICDO; the sponsorship of ICEX and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation; the participation of Cultural Industries, Intellectual Property and Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Sport and the ICAA; and the collaboration of CLAVNA, Diboos, DEV, AEVI, San Sebastian International Film Festival, Annecy Festival, UHY Fay & Co, Baluarte, Navarra Film Industry and Bodega Otazu.
